Current Existing Facility
The Hammanskraal facility is located in the Northern side of Pretoria City, South Africa. It is the only facility producing the ceramic filters. The facility hired the locals with majority being women. Ceramic filters are being sold and donated to schools and nursing homes to improve water quality and promote consumption of potable water. Khulisa Social Solution is our community partner which we are working hand in hand with. The Sales Department is working hard to increase sales compared to previous years.

Meet our SALES MANAGER: MUKHETHWA P. MANNZHI
Mukhethwa P. Mannzhi earned a master's degree in Hydrology and Water Resources from the University of Venda in 2022, focusing on water quality. She participated in a field study on household water quality using water filters at Tshibvumo Village (South Africa) in 2022. Mukhethwa joined PureMadi in April 2023 as a Sales Manager, overseeing sales activities, promoting filters, packaging and delivery of filters, including distribution to schools and establishing positive business relationships. When necessary, Mukhethwa works with visiting University of Virginia student and faculty teams. Mukhethwa can be contacted at sales@puremadi.org
Meet our facility manager: Nobuhle (Nono) Khumalo
Nono joined PureMadi in December of 2023 as the overall facility manager. Nono has a bachelor of Science (Hans) Degree in Environmental Science and Health from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe. She has almost 10 years of experience in the fields of environmental safety and monitoring
Meet our filter production manager: Piet Chauke
Piet Chauke began work for PureMadi as a volunteer shortly after we opened our Dertig production facility. He is a resident of that local community and has now been with PureMadi for over 7 years. He is an expert in all aspects of the filter-making process, and his high level of productivity has earned him the position of Filter Production Manager. As such, he oversees the sourcing of all materials, the production process (including troubleshooting filter production and modifying procedures based on changes to raw materials), and the supervision of 2-4 additional filter production workers
